Alicia Jaime-Razo
Spanish Teacher
This is my 14th year at West Campus and my 19th year in the Sacramento City Unified School District. I have worked with English Learners and their parents since 2002. Born and raised in Mexico, I have lived and studied in several countries and taught all levels of Spanish.
Christine Kapp
Science Teacher
This is my sixth year teaching at West Campus, but I have been teaching science for the last 16 years. I try to share my love for the sciences with my students in the Biology, Chemistry, and Anatomy & Physiology classes that I teach.
I enjoy learning and trying new things, but one of my biggest passions is travel, which began when I taught in Japan. Since then, I have been to more than 80 countries and lead a service travel program at the school, where students can volunteer with communities abroad.
Brian Laird
Social Science Teacher
I love teaching and have been doing so for over 20 years. I teach AP U.S. History (APUSH), College Prep U.S. History, and Economics. My favorite thought about the value of history comes from Howard Zinn, where he writes, “The past suggests what can be, not what must be. It shows not all of what is necessary, but some of what is possible.” In my spare time I enjoy running, hiking, biking, and cooking up vegetarian and vegan recipes. I was born in Alabama but raised in Las Vegas and San Jose. I live in Sacramento with my beautiful wife and daughter.
